Mega Man 1 Retro background does not include time man or oil man.

Dr. Light and Dr. Wily worked together for 5 years creating Blues *AKA Proto Man*, at 3/4 the way through Dr. Willy tells Dr. Light he has had enough and that he needs a break. So Wily goes on vacation.

Soon after wily left from the airport, Dr. Light finishes Protoman
The next day Proto Man was activated he went in to a rage and escaped.
The government called Dr. Light to remind him of his entry into the Robotics contest for contracts was about 6 Months away. Dr. Light tells them not to worry because he will have one ready for them to see.

(The reason it took them so long with Protoman is because they were arguing and kept testing his systems but forgot to reset his memory, thus when he turned him on and all systems were operational he bolted out the door.)

Now in 5 years, technology had tripled so it was very easy for light to create Rock *AKA Mega Man* Roll, Cut Man, Guts Man, Ice Man, Bomb Man, Fire Man, and Elec Man within the 3 month time period.

Dr. Light did not tell Dr. Wily either the bad news about Proto Man or the good news about Mega Man and the others. When Dr. Wily comes back and realizes that Dr. Light has the Contract money, lost Proto Man and built Eight new robots without even asking him he feels BETRAYED! So Dr. Wily being the genius that he is tries to re-program all the robots that Dr.Light built. However Rock and Roll resist the re-programming becasue they are built with advanced technology that Wily has never seen before.

So begins the greatest game in the history of the world: Mega Man 1
